Space Nerds Unite

I absolutely love space. And tonight is the Perseids Meteor Shower. The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak. This year's shower should peak on the night of August 12 and the morning of the 13th, but you may be able to see some meteors any time from July 23 - August 22. The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Perseus. The thin, crescent moon will be out of the way early, setting the stage for a potentially spectacular show. For best viewing, look to the northeast after midnight

thoughts on divorce

I remember when, I would sit up on my bed crying out for my heroes to save me from the Boogie Man. You would both come rushing in and fight the monster away from my mind. I felt safe. This house felt like a home. Now years have gone by, and this monster has returned. I cry out for my heroes, yet nobody has come through those doors. Who is going to save me? No matter how much I scream and shout, my heroes are never to be found. They went their separate ways. They saw each other as the enemy and pushed each other away. Fighting crime for twenty years, side by side never leaving each others side. These superheroes could fight off any monster that haunted my dreams. Except these monsters have become real, and i need my heroes now more than ever. Where are they? Where did they go? I feel so lost, and this monster is getting closer. HELP! HELP! HELP!…..still no reply. This monster is torturing me, i need my heroes help!

I guess they aren’t coming to save me, now its time to let this monster take me.

This week, i had a mental breakdown or something like it. i hope things will be better from now on.
But Jason Yun or Sowrongitsjason on the 'tubes has posted his 3 instillation of an amazing video series "Post Secrets" in which viewers can annoymusly submit thier secret feelings, most valuble piece of confidential information and thoughts. I have had secrets in all 3 videos and it is really a load off of your chest when the secrets come out. i know im not the only one who feels this way and i know that i might not be the only one who is thankful for jason for publicly realising these inner burdens.

as well as another self esteem boosting video that is part of the campaign "OPERATION BEAUTIFUL"

THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN PIECE OF LITERATURE

This is a Quake Marine fanfiction. I first heard it during an episode of

http://nefariousfauxpod.podbean.com/

*please read this entire thing, read it slowly and outloud for the best comedic point of view

QUAKE URGENCY by Roger Rovensfeld

Quake Marine appeared in a tech base. He looked around for survivors but there were none, but then he saw a man and he was dying "Help! Quake Marine come here!" he said, dying "What is it?" Quake Marine said "There are monsters all around! Quickly you must take this shotgun"And Quake Marine took the shotgun and shot the survivor to ease his pain.

Quake Marine went down the elevator and saw zombies with guns. Quake Marine gasped and took down demons by shooting down the rocks which killed the aliens. But they missed!

"Oh no!" said Quake Marine and he switched to his super shotgun "I will avenge the death of my brother!" he said and shot down the bridge which the marines were over and they fell in and drown.

"Yes!" said Quake Marine and he walked over the bridge to reach the tech base which he was outside. But then there was a zombie dog! "Oh no zombie dogs!" said Quake Marine and he shoot the exploding barrels and they were explode taking the zombie spiders (which exploded)

Quake Marine went down the hallways and it was very creepy with monsters everywhere. Monsters popped out of vases but they were shot at and died.
"We will defeat you Quake Marine!" said the monsters but they died before they could say that.

Quake Marine jumped over the slime pits and fell in. "Excrements!" said Quake Marine "I will have to use lightning gun to launch myself up into the top bridges above and escape to safety" and he shot the lightning below him and he flew up to reach the hooks above and he grabbed them.
"Yes"

But suddenlly there was earth Quake, "Oh no!" shouted Quake Marine and he fell into the chasm below.

"Aaaaaaaaaaah!" Quake Marine was screaming, so he linked up with base via laptop "Base I am falling chasm!" said Quake Marine urgently "Okay" said base "What you need do is shoot hooks at walls"

Quake Marine shot hooks at walls and escaped. He was back home in his office.

"Well done Quake Marine!" said the boss.

"No problem!" Said Quake Marine, and he turned off his computer and walked away.

He was going to start new life.

If I Were Religious, I Would Pray For Patience

Patience is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on annoyance/anger in a negative way; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast. Antonyms include hastiness and impetuousness

But alas, patience is not a virtue that I always exude.

I expect others to abide to their word, and be as respectful and as considerate as others treat them. When these people fail to be so empathetic and turn to ignorance, I become impatient. The ignorance that someone shows towards a simple request, a courteous action, a person’s heritage or even a law going unenforced, is despicable nonetheless. And then goes as far as being ignored and or mocked. When this occurs, I become: impatient, stressed and my blood starts to boil.

Impatience is a flaw that I do possess when the simple contemplation of others is clearly overlooked.

Heck, I may even do this too. But nobody is perfect. And all anyone can do to try to avoid sounding hypocritical is to do so upon others and hopefully they will show you a morsel of regard for your existance.

Baby

Recently, well actually around Christmas of last year, I stumbled upon the television shows such as secret life of the American teenager and sixteen and pregnant. I have absolutely no intentions nor do I think these shows glamorize getting pregnant anytime soon. But as my sister and I get older, we like to fantasize about names.

This is the list I have compiled of names that I like

BOY

  • skyler
  • Ty
  • Wyatt
  • Liem
GIRL
  • Lucy
  • Autumn
  • Lilly
  • Molly

HEY SOUL SISTER - DAYS 4 & 5

DAYS 4 and 5

we assembled funiture, went to the pool, assembled more funiture, went to the homedepot, went to winn dixie, went to the outlet mall, bought a clutch. :)
stayed strong when in the coach store, saw a 75 dollar key chain and a diamond encrusted thumb drive, went to the crab trap for dinner. (delicious) generally boring. still sick. napped for 3 hours.

This Opportunity Comes Once In a Lifetime

Day 3:

Day three started off kind of negatively. I coughed myself awake and woke up everyone else. I still felt kind of crappy all morning but the fruit smoothie and Starbucks banana bread helped.

We assembled furniture all day. Note to the makers of IKEA instruction manuals, words and labels would be a super good idea. A guy with a smile on his face pointing to a screw is not very helpful when there are 4 different types of screws that you are given.

We also travelled to Wal-Mart, home depot, marshals and my new favourite place (Panera Bread, they need to have them in Canada)

After more assembling and multiple threats to throw the furniture over the balcony, we went to the movie theatre to see “Alice in wonderland”.

Over all it was a good movie that showcased the original story, the contrast between England and Scotland and a bong smoking caterpillar. Over all the 3D was decent (not great) and I give it 4 stars out of five.

On The Road Again Day 2

Day 2 started at 7am in Conyers (just outside Atlanta)
We enjoyed the “fresh” strawberries at the continental breakfast and then i stole a box of kleneex from the hotel room. MOST NESSESARY
After checkout, we headed over to the U-haul to pick up a 17” truck and headed to the local IKEA. That was a 4.5 hour adventure. and 7 shopping carts later and a reciept that was longer than a football field, mission IKEA: accomplished.

Other sights seen:

• Atlanta

• Downtown Atlanta

• OH! My nappy hair salon (in downtown Atlanta)

• 4596593458 cows

• A few cows that looked like llamas

• Georgia, Alabama, Florida

oh and as soon as we got to the condo, what was there to greet me? a gecko on the bedroom wall and the marks of where a squirrel had gotten trapped inside. the bed is super comfy and i am super tired.
in other news, i am still sick. grrr.

Hit the road Jack

So the great IKEA road trip has officially begun, we were expecting to leave this morning at 5 am. But a missing cell phone had delayed our departure until 5:26 . Other than that minor time lapse, all was well. I fell asleep shortly after leaving only to wake myself up with my own snoring (make that twice) And once with my peppermint tea in hand, just on the brink of spilling the scalding hot perfection all over myself.

The wait at the border in Windsor was quite long but understandably, everyone and their brother were crossing the border for an awesome march break vacation.

As expected the song Magaritaville was quite prominent thus far in our travels. It wasn’t even 45 minutes from starting the road trip before it made its debut. But may I say that the new travel anthem may or may not be "Tick Tock" by Ke$ha. Time will tell.

Other interesting sights that have been seen as of yet:

• A giant Jesus statue

• MY EYELIDS

• Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia

• The Smokey mountains

• A squirrel themed antique store

• A self serve military vehicle carwash station

• A car accident or two.

florida bound :)

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go. I'm standin' here outside your door. I hate to wake you up to say goodbye.

So the great ikea roadtrip will begin in approxamately 32.5 hours. I cant wait. the only bummer is that i am still sick, i have lost my voice and have a super annoying cough. :(
i have been packing, resting and studying all evening, hoping to get better in time and be ready to go at 5 am friday. (urg... waking up early......totally worth it)
so, i am planning to picture blog and blog about the day's travels via this blog. hopefully there is an internet source where we are staying and in the condo, if not i might go through withdrawls.
If i don't have sufficient internet accesibility while i am away, i will chronical each days travels and post them at a later date.

Oh, kiss me and smile for me

Tell me that you'll wait for me

Hold me like you'll never let me go

'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane

I don't know when I'll be back again

Oh, babe, I hate to go

Today, i am feeling rather insignificant.
I am failing math badly. not a surprise that i am getting an F in that course and have no idea on where my life is going. Do i want to go into english, history or sociology? Also, caught stepdad's cold so i feel like ball of gross. Feeling out of the loop with the inter- connections with my friends, but im sure that could be fixed.

Yesterday, spent all day running around like a maniac prepairing for the anniversary party. took some nice pictures of my sister and her boyfriend kyle. :) pictures to come. And i can't wait to see the pictures that the hired photographer took of the whole family.

In other news, i have had the song "hot air balloon" by owl city stuck in my head all day!!
